Il mondo della scalata difficilmente riesce ad ottenere le luci della ribalta su magazine generalisti, TV o socials: i riflettori che illuminano l'estremo sono spesso puntati maggiormente su jumpers, bikers, free-riders, snowboarders e in qualche caso su alpinisti estremi.
Quando accade qualcosa come quello che è avvenuta ad El Captain, la montagna più imponente della Yosemite Valley in California, nemmeno la Casa Bianca ed il Presidente USA Barack Obama possono esimersi dal commentare...
E' successo ieri, 14 gennaio 2015: l'atleta La Sportiva Tommy Caldwell con La Sportiva TC Pro ai piedi (e quel TC è abbastanza riconducibile al nome del primo dei due atleti...) e Kevin Jorgenson hanno liberato la via "Dawn Wall" dopo 7 anni di studi/tentativi/sogni e 19 giorni di lavorazione. Un'ascesa senza precedenti su una via di 32 tiri con ben 7 di grado 8a per una via che è stata definita dal mondo verticale, una delle più dure del pianeta. La Sportiva si congratula con Tommy e Kevin non solo per aver chiuso la via ma anche per aver dato luce come forse mai prima d'ora al movimento arrampicatorio.
