Parete dell'Aquila - Ala Sud - Urbe - Rocche dell'Orbarina

Parete dell'Aquila, Ala Destra - Enrico Ferraro, 12 Novembre 2015 Parete dell'Aquila, Ala Destra

  • The main structure of the Rocche dell'Orbarina, seen from the road that leads from San Pietro to Piampaludo, vaguely resembles an eagle with spread wings in its shape. It is on the southern wing of this eagle that the first, short, climbing shots of the main wall were born. The rock of this sector, in spite of the massive work of removal required and its discontinuity linked to its morphology, had in fact to offer some of the most technical and best-quality rock passages, unfortunately not affected (as unfortunately happened in the beautiful underlying plates) from the incessant water flows of the winter rains.

  • Access: From the Rondinella plaque, after the last shot on the right, proceed always for red stamps on the track that flanks the small walls of schistose rock and climb the small ledge / fireplace (2 meters) that leads to the base of the pitches.
