Pala di Introbio

  • La Pala, located just behind the Sasso di Introbio, represents with the same "Sasso" the rocky buttress of the "Corno del Biscia". This pronounced rock, overlooking the meadows of the middle Valsassina, formerly housed a medieval watch tower communicating with the nearby Rocca di Baiedo; a few remains completely hidden by vegetation can still be found on its summit. La Pala has always enjoyed a consistent attendance, motivated by the short access, the streets of medium difficulty and the excellent rock. In addition, the opportunity to climb long routes and easy-to-use single pitchers makes the structure very advisable and complete. The discovery and enhancement of the structure is due to the untiring work (which continues today) of the Condor group, while more recently Pietro Buzzoni, Gianfranco Tantardini and Massimo DisarĂ², have opened new challenging lines on excellent rock, enhancing the compact central bending of the structure (Apophis sector).

  • Access: From the bridge on the road, turn right (arriving from Lecco) following the sign for the "Casa delle Guide", after 80 meters you park at the base of the "Sasso" structure; walk up the ramp-concrete wall and turning behind the southern spur the "Sasso" you reach the "Pala" and, just ahead, the "Muro".
