Genova Pegli - Val Varenna (Tana dei Banditi, Carpenara)
Prîe da Formîgoa (Genoese dial: Massi della Formica) Chiodata by Enrico Ferraro between the winter of 2017 and the spring of 2018 and later in the spring of 2021, thanks to the contribution of ASD Urbe and some friends of the association. We thank the owners of the land for the authorization granted. The latter must be kept clean and tidy, having the utmost respect for the surrounding environment and reminding us that we are in a private context.
- Section: liguria
Access: Exit at the Genova Pegli tollbooth, continue towards Voltri. After the Agip petrol station and the bridge over the Varenna, turn right at 100 meters, after the arcades. Continue north towards Val Varenna / San Carlo di Cese. Go through the towns of Tre Ponti, Granara, Chiesino and after crossing the Carpenara bridge, turn left towards the Cave Marchisio (sign). After a first gate, continue until you find a dirt road that goes down to the left. Just above the crossroads, still on the asphalted road, a small clearing on the left allows you to park (2 cars). In front of the clearing, following the red signs and paying attention to a couple of sudden turns first to the left and then to the right, in 10 minutes you will reach the base of the small metabasalto towers (max height 20 meters).
