The Precipizio del Circeo is, like the Montagna Spaccata di Gaeta, a fairly atypical "cliff". Even if the approach to the streets is less adventurous, you must still consider at least an hour of walking to get to the attack of the routes, also facing a good stretch of Mediterranean vegetation, which, as the path is not frequented, becomes each year thicker. The place, however, certainly deserves at least one visit especially from those who come from afar.
Access: The Precipice is located in the Circeo National Park, from San Felice Circeo to the asphalted road to Faro and Punta Rossa. After the asphalt road continue for another 2 km on a dirt road. When you reach a fork you park your car and continue on foot up the steep road. At a second fork, take a very wide path to the right and follow it to where it ends. Then take a path marked with red stamps that runs along a ridge from which the Precipice wall is already visible. Arrived to a characteristic boulder you dive into the notorious Mediterranean scrub and you cross it taking care not to get close to the walls, but aiming to bypass the evident central spur and then go up to the walls below the vertical of the large yellow roof that you can also see from the ridge. The routes that, in my opinion, certainly deserve a visit have been recently re-equipped and are the PILASTRO ZOPPO, which attacks 30 m sn vertical roof (a red nail is half hidden by vegetation 4-5 m higher at the beginning of the dihedral), the superchiodata VIA DEL RETTO which attacks 10 m further on the right (large hourglasses on the attack) and MISTERO, the most recent route. To descend from these streets you reach the anticima and you are rediscovered along the southern crest for traces of trail and scree reaching the characteristic boulder from which we had entered the scrub. From here, follow the ascent route. Good fun!!
