Arco e il Garda Trentino hanno ospitato in questi giorni la terza edizione di Arco Rock Star, il contest internazionale di fotografia di arrampicata.
Nove team di fotografi professionisti, provenienti da cinque paesi europei, si sono sfidati per due giorni alla ricerca della perfetta foto di arrampicata.
Tra i “modelli” anche importanti climber come Nico Favresse o Angelika Reiner, per citarne solo due.
La giuria, composta da Giampaolo Calzà (fotografo, presidente della giuria), Robbie Shone (fotografo National Geographic), Nicholas Hobley (editor di Planetmountain.com), Marianna Zanatta (outdoor manager) e dallo staff di Arco Rock Star ha dovuto scegliere con difficoltà tra una selezione di foto di altissimo livello, che testimonia il valore e l’impegno dei fotografi partecipanti.
Al vincitore, il fotografo inglese John Thornton, un assegno di 1500 euro e un premio in materiale da parte di Climbing Technology, La Sportiva e f-stop Gear. Thornton ha arrampicato con Matteo Furlan e Francesco Zerbi. Le sue foto sono state premiate per la qualità tecnica e per la capacità di raccontare lo spirito dell’arrampicata.
Secondo classificato Giovanni Danieli, in team con Giovanni Zaccaria, Alessandro Baù e Alice Lazzaro.
Al terzo posto Matteo Mocellin, che ha ritratto Peter Moser, Andrea Salvadori e Giorgia Verì.
Il premio La Sportiva Anniversary, che celebra l’arrampicata del passato, nei gesti, nei colori e nelle atmosfere, è stato assegnato a Matteo Pavana.
Questo nuovo premio è stato introdotto per festeggiare i 90 anni de La Sportiva, che celebrerà il 23 maggio il novantesimo anniversario dalla sua fondazione, nel 1928, con un maxi-evento aperto al pubblico presso il parco del Muse, a Trento e nel centro città.
Il premio per la categoria OPEN è andato, per il secondo anno consecutivo, a Graziano Galvagni.
La cerimonia di premiazione si è tenuta domenica sera di fronte a 200 persone, a Palazzo Marchetti, ad Arco.
